Silvanet is a wireless forest monitoring system built on a LoRa-based mesh network to connect wildfire sensors deep within forests to the cloud via Gateways. These sensors detect environmental changes and fire indicators, and transmit this data wirelessly to a cloud platform.
Key Functions
Wildfire Detection
Detects early-stage fires through gas, temperature, and humidity sensors.Mesh Communication
Devices communicate through Mesh Gateways over LoRaWAN using a self-healing, energy-efficient network.Cloud Integration
All sensor data is transmitted securely to the Silvanet Cloud, where alerts and insights are generated.Real-Time Alerts
Automated alerts are sent to authorized users via email or integrated systems.
End-to-End Data Flow
Here’s how data travels from forest to user:
Sensor detects early fire indicators
Data sent via Mesh Gateway → Border Gateway
Border Gateway connects to the internet (via LTE or Ethernet)
Data processed and alerts triggered in the Silvanet Cloud
Notifications sent to users and platforms in real-time
Key Benefits
Detects fires within minutes
Requires no grid power
Covers vast areas using solar-powered infrastructure
Reduces false alarms through multi-sensor logic
