Dryad defines two primary user roles to ensure efficient management and secure access across its suite of applications:
User Roles & Permissions
| Action | 👤 Standard | 🧑💻 Admin |
|---|---|---|
| Access Planning Tool | ✅ | ✅ |
| View Assigned Sites | ✅ | ✅ |
| Create Sites | ❌ | ✅ |
| Add Users | ❌ | ✅ |
| Create Organizations | ❌ | ✅ |
| Manage Multiple users | ❌ | ✅ |
Understanding Organizations
- Organizations represent clients using Dryad's Silvanet system.
- Users are assigned to one Organization only.
- Each Site can be linked to one Organization, giving all users in those Organization and its parent organization, if any, access to that Site.
How Access Works
1. Organization Membership
Every user is assigned to one Organization. A user cannot belong to multiple Organizations at the same time.
Admins can manage users within their Organization.
Standard users are managed by their Organization’s admin.
2. Site Access within an Organization
When a user is created within an Organization that manages multiple Sites, that user automatically has access to all of those Sites.
Admins have full access across all Sites in their Organization.
Standard users only access Sites as granted and managed by their admin.
3. Hierarchical Access Across Organizations
Organizations can be linked in a hierarchy. When one Organization grants access to another, its users inherit access to all Sites managed by the child Organizations in that chain.
Admins inherit management and access rights across the hierarchy.
-
Standard users inherit access only as determined by their admin.
