Overview
During a fire test, it is important to monitor alert activity when validation is required. Dryad provides multiple alert types, which can be accessed and managed through the Alert Center, API integrations, or via email and SMS notifications.
Alert Center
The Alert Center in the Silvanet Site Management App is the central hub for receiving and managing fire detection alerts from deployed sensors.
During a Sensor Smoke Test or Fire Test, you can use the Alert Center to monitor the delivery of fire alerts. If you are measuring alert delivery times, ensure that the timing starts from the "first smoke time", not from the ignition of the fire.
For more details on the Alert Center, see our article: How does the Alert Center work?
Once testing is complete, be sure to clear your site alerts and select “Fire Test” as the reason. Further details can be found in our article: What to Do When an Alert Appears
API Integration
API events are delivered to your chosen third-party monitoring or alerting tools and will vary depending on your specific configuration. This integration ensures that fire detection alerts can be seamlessly incorporated into your existing monitoring workflows.
Email & SMS Alerts
When an alert is triggered, registered users who have opted in for email or SMS notifications will receive the corresponding alert message. This ensures critical alerts are delivered directly to your inbox or mobile device for immediate awareness.
For step-by-step instructions on setting up email and SMS alerts, please refer to our article:
How to Configure Email & SMS Alerts
Tip: All alert recipients should be configured prior to testing to ensure all participants receive notifications as expected and that alert delivery can be accurately monitored.
