The Dryad Silvanet Deployment App is a iOS and Android mobile app specifically designed for in-field installation of Silvanet devices within a designated Silvanet Site. It is part of the broader Silvanet Cloud ecosystem, which also includes the browser-based Site Management App.
The Deployment App is required for all device installations, users cannot deploy devices without it. It provides the following functionality in the field:
Displays the site plan created in the Silvanet Planning Tool.
Guides users to the planned locations for each device, ensuring accurate placement.
Supports connectivity testing of Border and Mesh Gateways.
Confirms successful device Installation with the Silvanet Cloud.
Allows offline functionality for deployment areas without mobile connectivity.
How It Works in Practice
1. Prepare your Site Plan in the Silvanet Planning Tool (web-based)
Use the Silvanet Planning Tool to design and structure your site plan, ensuring that both high- and low-priority areas are adequately covered, that all Border Gateways have mobile network connectivity, and that Mesh Gateways and Wildfire Sensors have reliable LoRa connectivity. Once the site plan is complete and validated, set it to deploy to confirm it is ready for installation. The approved plan then becomes visible in the Silvanet Deployment App, allowing installers to deploy devices exactly as planned.

2. Deploy your Silvanet Devices using the Deployment App
Use the Silvanet Deployment App to install and activate Gateways and Wildfire Sensors in the field, directly against your approved site plan. During installation, devices are scanned via NFC or QR code to accurately assign their deployed location, and connectivity tests are performed on gateways to confirm coverage across the site. The app verifies device deployment status and ensures all essential data is synchronized with the Silvanet Cloud, preparing your site for ongoing operation.

3. Monitor your live Site with the Site Management App (web-based)
Once devices are deployed, they become active in the web-based Site Management App, where you can view detailed device information, including energy levels and RSSI. The app allows you to configure email and SMS alerts, manage API connections, and monitor overall site status, ensuring your deployment is fully operational and performing as expected.

Offline Deployment and Remote Environments
The Silvanet Deployment App supports full offline functionality, allowing you to deploy devices even in areas without mobile or Wi-Fi connectivity. Key points to keep in mind when working offline include:
Prepare in advance: Load site maps and ensure your device is fully charged before heading into the field. Always use the latest app version.
Deploy devices offline: You can Install devices (QR/NFC), run connectivity tests where applicable, and view cached maps and site plans.
Local data caching: Device lists, map views, and status indicators remain available based on the most recently synced data. Updates from the cloud will only appear once you reconnect.
Automatic sync: Once back online, the app uploads all offline actions and downloads any cloud updates.
Best practices: Coordinate with team members to avoid conflicts, and allow time for a full sync between deployment sessions before continuing.
What the Deployment App Does Not Do
Cannot be used to design or modify site plans
Cannot replace the Planning Tool or Site Management App
Cannot deploy devices without an approved site plan
Cannot show you live device statuses, only deployment statuses
