Silvanet Mesh Gateways extend the coverage of your Silvanet network by connecting to a Silvanet Border Gateway and allowing additional Silvanet Wildfire Sensors to communicate with the network. They use LoRa communication to relay sensor data through the mesh network, enabling sensor deployments in areas where direct connection to a Border Gateway is not possible.
Proper installation is essential to ensure reliable network performance and communication between devices. This guide walks you through the complete installation process for a Silvanet Mesh Gateway, from mounting and power-up to completing the Connectivity test.
Important: Before entering the forest, ensure you have all required tools and equipment for the deployment. For a complete list of required items, see our article: Tools and equipment needed for Silvanet site deployment
Deploying the Silvanet Mesh Gateway
Deploy the Mesh Gateways to build up a Silvanet Mesh Network.
Tip: Pre-charge the Mesh Gateways for 24 hours before bringing the devices to the deployment locations.
Note: Before heading into the deployment area, find a location with good mobile connectivity, launch the Deployment app on the Smartphone, then select the Site so you could then use it offline.
