Reliable cellular coverage is essential for your Border Gateway to connect to the Silvanet Cloud. Here are the main ways to confirm coverage before and during deployment:
1. Check Local Carrier Coverage Maps
Border Gateways Gen3 use Telus roaming partners to connect.
Visit the coverage maps of the local Telus roaming partner in your country.
Confirm that LTE-M / NB-IoT service is available in your deployment area.
2.Use the In-Office Test Procedure (Before Field Deployment)
Register the embedded SIM to your local mobile network prior to entering the field to save time during deployment.
This allows you to confirm that the device is capable of registering on the mobile network.
3. Perform Onsite Connectivity Testing
Even if coverage maps look good, conditions in the field may differ (due to terrain, vegetation, or infrastructure).
Once your Border Gateway is temporarily mounted and powered, run a Connectivity Test from the Dryad Deployment App.
This will confirm if the Border Gateway can connect to the cellular network at the chosen location.

Tip: If coverage is weak or unstable, consider relocating the Border Gateway to a spot with stronger signal (e.g., higher elevation or more open area).
