Each Silvanet Border Gateway Gen 3 comes equipped with two types of built-in SIM capabilities:
Embedded IoT eSIM (Internal)
This eSIM is factory-installed and supports LTE‑M and NB‑IoT (with 2G fallback).
It is managed remotely by Dryad and automatically connects to the best available carrier.
No action is required by users—for global deployment coverage, mobile connectivity is handled out-of-the-box.
External M2M SIM Slot (Generation 3)
The gateway includes a user-accessible external micro SIM slot.
Use this to insert a customer-provided M2M SIM if preferred (must support LTE‑M / NB‑IoT).
You can switch to a local carrier or specialized SIM by inserting your own card—ideal for carrier-specific deployments.
| SIM Type | Installed In | User Access | Purpose |
