Dryad’s Gen3 Border Gateway is built for flexibility in the field, offering two reliable power options to meet your site’s specific needs.
Primarily, it runs on solar power, supported by high-efficiency supercapacitors instead of conventional batteries. This design allows for consistent, maintenance-free operation, day and night, season after season, without environmental drawbacks. The two solar panels charges the device during daylight hours, and the supercapacitors store energy for continuous operation after sunset or during overcast conditions. This makes the Border Gateway ideal for remote forest environments with limited infrastructure.
In addition to solar, the Border Gateway also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing it to draw power through a wired network connection when infrastructure permits. This option is especially useful for installations at forest edges, ranger stations, or other locations with access to mains power and Ethernet.
Whether running fully off-grid or integrated into existing infrastructure, the Gen3 Border Gateway is designed for dependable performance with minimal intervention.
