The Fire Protection Map Layer in the Silvanet Planning Tool visualizes the estimated wildfire detection times across your planned or deployed site. Detection time is directly influenced by the density of Silvanet Sensors in a given area, for example, areas with higher sensor density can achieve detection times of under 30 minutes.
Silvanet sites often include areas with different risk levels. The Fire Protection Map Layer helps you verify that each area of your site meets the desired detection targets, allowing you to quickly confirm that high-priority areas have shorter detection times while lower-risk areas are covered appropriately.
How it Works
- Open the Dryad Site Management App and navigate to the site you want to review.
- In the top-right of the site view, click the three-dot menu and select Site Planning.
- Choose the site plan you want to open from your saved plans. (Note: you can view detection times for both your saved draft site plans and already-deployed sites.)
- The map of the selected plan or deployed site will load.
- In the top-right corner of the map, click the shield icon to enable the Fire Protection Map Layer.
- The map will display a heat-style overlay across sensor areas: lighter green indicates faster estimated detection times; darker green indicates slower estimated detection times.
- In the bottom-right corner of the map, review the legend (key) to see the detection-time ranges associated with each colour (for example: < 30 min, 30–60 min, 60–90 min, > 90 min).
