Configuring Connectivity and Satellite Sensing Mode for Generation 4 Pro Sensors

When Generation 4 Pro is selected as the planned sensor generation, additional configuration options become available. These allow you to select the sensor's Connectivity Type and, when Satellite connectivity is chosen, configure the Satellite Sensing Mode.

Satellite Sensing Mode enables the secondary functionality of the Generation 4 Pro sensor, Weather Station Mode. In this mode, the sensor uses satellite connectivity to provide environmental monitoring in remote locations where wildfire detection may not be required or where microclimate monitoring is the primary objective.

These settings can be configured globally for all sensors within a sensor area or individually for specific sensors, providing the flexibility to meet the requirements of your deployment.

Global Sensor Configuration

When creating a sensor area or path, if the sensor generation is set to Generation 4 Pro, users can configure the Connectivity Type and, where applicable, the Satellite Sensing Mode in the area properties. These settings are then applied to all sensors within the selected area, ensuring consistent configuration across the deployment.

Individual Sensor Configuration

Users can also configure the Connectivity Type and, where applicable, the Satellite Sensing Mode on a per-device basis.

This allows individual sensors within a site plan to be assigned different connectivity and sensing modes, providing greater flexibility for mixed deployments.

Configuring sensor Connectivity Type and Satellite Sensing Mode

1. Click on the sensor you want to configure, either on the planning map or from the sensor list. The Sensor Editing panel will open in the top-right corner of the screen.Select Edit sensor type.
2. Ensure the Sensor Type is set to Silvanet Gen 4 Pro.
3. Select the required Connectivity Type.
4. If Satellite connectivity is selected, choose the required Satellite Sensing Mode:
   1. Fire Detection – Enables ultra-early wildfire detection and periodic environmental date reporting.
   2. Weather Station – Enables environmental monitoring via satellite.
5. Confirm your selection to apply the configuration.
