Silvanet Sensors must be mounted at a consistent height to ensure reliable communication and correct operation within the Silvanet mesh network. This article explains the required mounting height and key placement considerations.
Required Mounting Height
Silvanet Sensors must be mounted at:
3 meters above ground
This height provides the optimal balance between:
Reliable communication with nearby Gateways
Reduced obstruction from ground vegetation
Consistent detection performance
Mounting sensors higher or lower than this height may negatively impact connectivity and performance.
Line of Sight and Communication
Although sensors do not require long-distance line of sight, they must maintain a clear communication path to a nearby Mesh Gateway.
Avoid mounting sensors:
Behind thick tree trunks or rock formation displayed on coverage maps
Near large metal objects or structures
Even short-range obstructions can affect signal reliability.
Placement Best Practices
Install sensors according to the Site Plan
Mount sensors at 3 meters
Prioritize a clear path toward the nearest Gateway
Ensure the sensor is securely mounted and remains stable over time
